    This film is about the final years of painter Vincent van Gogh's life. At the beginning of this film, Vincent Van Gogh is still a poor painter who has some special ideas. He draws the nature and think a lot about the relationship between drawing and eternal. When he is drawing, people always say, your work is ugly, your work is not a drawing, even the maid who help Van Gogh cleans up his yellow house. He desires that“not to see a landscape but only the eternity behind it", and that "there cannot be such a thing as nature without there also being a meaning to nature". One day he goes outside to draw and meets a group of children who are following with their teacher there. They laugh at Van Gogh because they think that Van Gogh is the alien. After that, Van Gogh is hat by some boys with stones. He try to resist but he is caught by citizens. They consider that Van Gogh has mental issues and report him to the local psychiatric hospital. For comforting Vincent, Theo decide to ask Gauguin to stay with his poor brother. Van Gogh and Gauguin live together for a few time, but they have some different opinions in drawing. When Gauguin decide to live, Van Gogh cut his left ear as a gift for Gauguin and he give it to Gaby, a woman who has got in touch with Van Gogh. He is sent to Saint-Rémy-de-Provence. Finally, after he is free from the psychiatric hospital, he is hit by a bullet, which is shot from two boys.
