Assignment 1 About Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival

     

    This is one of my favorite artworks calls Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival. Its artist is Zeduan Zhang, a famous artist who was active in the Northen Song Dynasty. Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival is painted on a roll of thin, tough silk which is 24.8cm wide and 528.7cm long. There are 3 parts of scenery in Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival as follows: outskirts, Shangtu Bridge and downtown streets of Bianjing.

    In Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, Zeduan Zhang draws more than 500 people with different occupations and activities. They are so vivid that it seems we are stay in the real Northen Song Dynasty when we see this artwork ourselves.
